Hawks Vs NY Knicks

Atlanta opened the game with a flurry, outscoring NY 11-0 in the first minutes of the game. Then, the Knicks went on a huge rally, to take the lead.

After putting 34 points on the 1st quarter scoreboard, Atlanta is currently being limited to 8 in the 2nd (5:19 left at time of post). Al Harrington is dominating his former team, in front of a packed house at Philips Arena. The ex- Hawk has erupted for 25 points.

2 quick tech fouls on Josh Smith and he has been ejected from the game with 6:21 till halftime. Chris Duhon makes 1 of 2 FT. NY leads 51-42. I'll post a few updates later, in the comments section.

Hawks lead by 1 after 3.

-Falcons WR Harry Douglas has been spotted by the Hawks announcers. I didn't realize his brother, Tony plays for the Knicks.

-57-44 NY as former Gator, David Lee knocks down a couple of FTs.

-NY has hit 9 of 15 3 pt shots, as they lead 60-46 with 1:12 till half. I don't see the Hawks getting back in this game, due to the ejection of Josh Smith. But, who knows? There's still 2 more quarters to go.

-Knicks over Atl 64-51 at Half. Hawks were outscored 29-17 in 2nd quarter.

-With 3:51 left in 3rd quarter, Hawks had cut NY's lead to 4.

-Fomer UF basketballer, David Lee continues to put on a good show for fans who've traveled to Atlanta from the sunshine state. Lee currently has 14 points and 15 rebounds. Good defensive play by Lee.

-Al Harrington has yet to score in the 3rd.

-Al Horford goes to the floor. He'll shoot 2 FTs. 3rd foul on Lee. Horford misses 1st FT, makes 2nd. 77-74 NY with 2:45 left in 3rd. Harrington just scored. 79-76 NY, as Marvin Williams answers.

-Knicks turn the ball over on a travel.

-Horford scores over Harrington. Knicks by 1.

-7:38 left in game. Marvin Williams will be at the FT line for 2 shots, following a brief timeout. NY 94 Atl 90.

-Joe Johnson seems to be heating up. Hawks will need him to keep scoring, if they are gonna rally and win the game.

-Layup by Larry Hughes puts NY up 98-93 with 5:51 left. Hawks timeout. There was absolutely no attempt at playing defense, by anyone in a Hawks uniform on that last play. Looked like Hughes was playing a game of 1 on 1 vs Mike Bibby. Once he beat Bibby off the dribble, the middle of the paint was wide open for an easy drive to the basket. Very discouraging effort by Atlanta on that one.

-NY leads 106-96 after a back breaking layup by Chris Duhon. Barely over 2 minutes remaining. This is a loss that kind of stings. Even without Josh Smith, for most of the game, Atlanta could have won. All the Hawks had to do was show some sort of pulse at the defensive end of the floor. Instead, NY was able to score at will, in the paint.
Great game by David Lee. As I'm typing this, Lee has 17 points and 17 Rebounds.

-This will be the last update for the evening. I've seen enough.
Hawks are at Dallas tomorrow night.
See ya'll later.
