No Hitter Through 6

A potential story to keep an eye on, is that of Cubs ace Ted Lilly. Through 6 innings in blistery Chicago, Lilly has yet to surrender a base hit to the Colorado Rockies.

Due up for the Rockies in the top of the 7th:
Spilbourgh
Helton
Atkins

The Game is being shown on WGN.

Update- A 2 out single by Atkins in the top of the 7th has ended the chance of a no hitter in Chicago. Cubs lead 3-0.

Update-Angel Guzman brought in to relieve Ted Lilly. Troy Tulowitzki flied out to center to end the 7th. 3-0 Cubs.

The no hitter's gone, so I am too. If you wish to catch the rest of this game, tune in to WGN.

Too bad that the no hitter didn't turn out, but liked hearing about it as it was happening. I never would have known otherwise.

James,
Despite that sickening meltdown by the Bullpen in Philadelphia, I was fired up over the Braves' 5-1 start. Since then, they've gotten swept by the Marlins (in Atl), and lost 2 of 3 in Pittsburgh. It's still very early in the season, but I don't like the inconsistent play we've seen so far. If the Braves are going to be a contender, the pen has got to pitch well, on a consistent basis. The starters should be fine, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Also need to avoid injuries to key players, such Chipper Jones (already banged up) and Brian McCann (blurry vision could require Lasik eye surgery).

Positive notes: Rookie CF Jordan Schafer has played well, for his first shot at the big leagues, and reserves Martin Prado (IF) and David Ross (C) both homered in Sunday's 11-1 victory over the Pirates. See you in Sandersville.
