Tonight, the Atlanta Hawks are playing the Miami Heat in Philips Arena. These teams last met in the NBA playoffs last year. It was a weird series, that saw the home team blow out the visitors in each of the 7 games. Thankfully, my Hawks had the home court advantage and won the series 4 games to 3. Atlanta's play by play announcer, Steve Holman, was criticized for his cynicism of "Dwaaayne Wade." But, I loved his calls.
As I'm typing this post, the 9-2 Hawks lead Miami 21-17 in the 1st quarter. New Hawk, Jamal Crawford just drilled a 3. So far, the great Dwaaayne Wade is scoreless on an 0-4 night in Atlanta.

The great Dwaaayne Wade just scored. Zaza Pachulia responded with a basket of his own. Atlanta leads 23-19. Hawks ball.
Hawks lead Heat 26-23 after 1. Wade has 4 points. Joe Johnson leads Atl with 9.
8:47 left in 2nd. Atlanta leads 32-30. Heat will have ball when game resumes (commercial break).
42-35 Atlanta with 4:31 left in 2nd. Hawks on 10-0 run.
Timeout Miami. Hawks lead 49-39 after a couple of awesome fast breaks. 2.5 minutes till half. The great Dwaaayne Wade stuck on 4 pts.
60-43 Atlanta at the half. Beasley leads Heat with 13 points. Game was tied at 35 in 2nd quarter. Hawks went on a 25-8 run. The great Dwaaayne Wade has an un All-Star-esque 4 points.
Go Hawks!!
11 games into the season, the Atlanta Hawks are #1 in the NBA in points scored in the paint, with an average of 54 pts per game.
The Hawks are also #1 in the NBA in 2nd chance points.
62-54 Atlanta. Tech Foul on Josh Smith. Heat are dominating 3rd quarter. Hawks can't buy a basket. Beasley to the line for 2 FT. Makes both. 62-56 Atl.
4th foul on Beasley pust Horford on the line. Atl leads by a scrawny little 6 points with just over 5 minutes left in 3rd quarter.
"pust" should be puts.
79-72 Atl after 3. The great Dwaaayne Wade has 13 points. 3rd quarter was a lousy effort by Atlanta. Hawks quit driving to basket and missed a lot of open jump shots. Defensively, Atlanta lacked the same intensity that led them to a huge half time lead. Going into the 4th, this one is anybody's game. Didn't think I'd say that 15 NBA minutes ago.
"15 NBA minutes..." should be 12. My bad.
9:08 left in 4th. 85-73 Atlanta. Beasley commits 5th foul.
7:03 left. 91-77 Hawks.
3 by Marvin Williams puts Atl up 15 with 5:54 to go.
Joe Johnson scored 30, Josh Smith scored 16 with 14 rebounds. Horford had 14 and 12. Hawks are 6-0 at home, 10-2 overall. 5 players in double digits for Atl. The great Dwaaayne Wade scored less than 20 points for the first time in 24 games.
Go Hawks!!
