Last night, the Atlanta Braves played like a team I might ask to kick rocks. But, the 12-3 whoopin' Colorado laid upon 'em accounts for just one L in the loss column. And, the first place phils are just 4 games better than the dudes from ATL. So, I'm gonna let that one ride.
Tim Hudson will be looking for his tenth victory tonight, as he squares off against rookie hurler, Juan Nicasio. In his first MLB season, the 24 year old Dominican Republican has posted a respectable 4-2 record, including a 4.24 ERA for Colorado.
Jason Heyward will be back in the Braves lineup, after sitting out the last 2 games with a boo boo on his foot. First pitch is scheduled for 8:40 eastern.
Sounds like somethin' funky is 'bout to go down. Click on the title of this post.

Braves score none in top of 1st. Rocks up to bat.
Former Vol, Todd Helton just belted a 2 run blast into the right field seats. 2-0 Rocks.
Alex Gonzalez doubles Heyward home. Braves trail by just 1 second inning run.
2 gone for Tim Hudson, as he bats with Bravos on 1st and 2nd base. And the Auburn grad...for reasons unknown just bunted and was thrown out at 1st to end the inning. War Eagle!
Braves got Jordan Schafer at 2B, after stealing the bag with 0 outs and Martin Prado batting in top 3rd. Colorado still clinging to a 2-1 lead. Prado grounds out. JS still at 2B, as red hot rookie Freeman, steps into the batter's box. And, the kid just missed an RBI single. Schafer to 3B, but 2 gone for Braves. Former fish, Dan Uggla at the plate.
Side retired, as Uggla grounded out. Atlanta just flushed away a great opportunity to tack on another run. Rocks lead 2-1 going into bottom of 3rd inning in Colorado.
Colorado leads 2-1, as this game enters the 7th inning stretch. Great outing for Rockies rookie, Juan Nicasio.
Dexter Fowler hit by pitch to lead off 7th Colorado inning. Hudson had him behind in the count and lost control of his pitch. That sucks.
Jon Herrera batting for bad guys.
Fowler "thrown out" on pitch out.
2 gone as Herrera grounds out.
Inning over. ATL due up in 8th.
Jordan Schafer vs Rex Brothers in top 8th. 2-1 Rockies. 0-1 the count.
1-2.
Leadoff single by Schafer. Martin Prado flies out. Freddie Freeman bats with 1 out and a Brave on 1st.
Freeman flies out to left field. 2 gone for Uggla. Pitching change about to be made, as Schafer appears to be stuck on 1st base. Braves gotta find some offense.
Matt Lindstrom the new Colorado pitcher. Schafer steals 2B.
SINGLE TIES THE GAME AT 2!!
Some dude named Lugo will pinch run for a possibly injured Dan Uggla. Braves can ill afford to lose their 2nd baseman.
Heyward batting with 2 out and I don't know Lugo on 1st.
Strange call- catcher's interference- Heyward on 1st, Lugo on 2B, as A Gonzalez bats.
Alex grounds out. Rocks due up in bottom 8th, as game is tied at 2 runs apiece.
His name is Julio... Julio Lugo. Still don't know him, but he takes over for Dan Uggla at 2B.
Tennessee Todd Helton bats with 1 out in bottom 8th. His 2 run blast accounted for the previously plated Colorado runs. And, he is OUT. 2 down for Troy Tulowitzki (sp?)
Johnny Venters on the mound for ATL.
Tulowhatski walks. Seth Smith steps inside the batter's box for the rocks. And, is behind in the count 0-2.
STRIKE 3. Game tied, as they head into the 9th.
Brian McCann PH for Braves with 2 out in top 9. 1-0 the count.
Noisy out ends inning.
McCann just missed driving that ball across the Colorado skies.
Eric O'Flaherty hopes to hold the Rockies at 2. If he don't, ATL will lose. John Cena music plays, as Ian Stewart bats with 1 out and nobody on.
Stewart out.
Fowler up to bat.
Dexter is 2-2.
3-1 to D Fowler.
Martin Prado just delivered a brilliant Bill Buckner impression and Fowler takes 2 bases on the error. Former met, Wigginton intentionally walked. Carlos Gonzalez will bat with 2 out.
Game over. Gonzalez drills walk off single to right. Braves lose 3-2.
