After just one half an inning in Atlanta, Florida has already plated 3 runs. Not a good start for Braves rookie pitcher, Brandon Beachy. Leading 1-0, Marlin Mike Stanton drove in 2 additional fish with an RBI double down the left field line.
This one started to feel like the Braves were in trouble, before the popcorn man could advertise his presence at the Ted. (Cold beer, anybody?)
But, Martin Prado and Nate McLouth decided to bring their bats, tonight. The first and second batters in the Braves first inning produced back to back singles. With runners on first and third, Chipper Jones didn't wait long, to drive in his 1,501 RBI. Facing a 3-2 count, Larry sent an RBI single through the right side of the infield.
Brian McCann followed with a 3 run blast over the right field fence. After a discouraging start, Atlanta leads 4-3 after one inning of play.
Go Braves!

Leading off 2nd, Florida catcher Buck walked. Nolasco sac bunted his fellow fish to 2B.
1 out and Coghlan at bat for Marlins, with tying run in scoring position.
0-1 to Chris.
Great play by Braves SS Alex Gonzalez to save a run from scoring. Coghlan on 1st, Buck to
3rd on infield single.
Former Bravo, Infante, batting.
0-2 to Omar.
STRIKE 3!! 2 gone.
The dangerous Hanley Ramirez bats.
And delivers on an RBI single. Game tied at 4.
Wild pitch to Marlin Mike Stanton allows Ramirez to reach 2B. Coghlan on 3rd with 2 out. 2-2 to Marlin Mike.
No more damage done by Marlin Mike, as he flies out to Uggla.
4-4 after 2 and a half in Atlanta.
In Philadelphia, there is no score in the 4th.
In New York, Colorado took both games of a double header against the dastardly Mets.
Back at Turner Field, rookie 1B Freddie Freeman leads off 2nd Braves inning with a double. Beachy faces 0-2 count, after unsucessful sac bunt attempt.
Beachy lays down bunt. Freeman thrown out at 3rd. DAMN!
And what looked like a promising inning for Atlanta... is over. Prado GIDP (grounded into double play).
Logan Morrison will lead off 3rd for Fish.
Marlin LF facing 1-1 count.
'Scuse me. 3-1 count.
Dude flied out to the glove of Jason Heyward in shallow right field.
1 gone. Gaby Sanchez solo HR. 5-4 fish. Once again, DAMN!!
What happened to the beer guy? Toss one through my TV, bro.
Braves due up, trailing 5-3 in
3rd. McLouth, Jones, McCann destined for the batter's box in Atlanta.
N8 flies out to left.
And Jones flies out to shallow centerfield.
2 quick outs for McCann with basepaths clear of Braves.
Brian goes down swining. Fish due back up to bat.
"swining" should read swinging. How could a Georgia fan forget the g?
Who cares? Florida pitcher now batting.
He gone.
Coghlan makes a rare out vs Braves. 2 fish down for Infante.
Infield single by Omar.
Hanley Ramirez facing 2-2 count.
BB (base on balls) for Hanley. Marlin Mike Stanton grounds out. Still 5-4 Fish.
Due up for Bravos: Uggla, Heyward, & former fish Alex Gonzalez.
My bad, Uggla actually due up first vs former team in 4th.
HOMERUN UGGLA!! 5-5.
Heyward walked, then stole 2nd base. A Gonzalez grounds out. Heyward remains at 2nd.
Freeman flies out. Heyward to
3rd. Atlanta pitcher bats with 2 out.
Inning over. Braves and fish tied at 5, going into 5th.
Phils over Nats 2-0 in 8th. And once again, dastardly Mets lost TWICE today. Wish that happened everyday.
Go Braves!
Good inning for Beachy. No more Marlin runs.
Prado leads off Braves 5th and is safe on errant toss by Ramirez.
N8 McLouth GIDP. Damn. 2 out no Braves on base for Chipper.
Inning over.
3-0 Phils over Nats in 8th.
ChippEr boots one off the bat of John Buck. Florida pitcher looking to sac bunt.
Mission accomplished by Nolasco. 1 down, fish on 2nd.
Coghlan to take IBB (intentional base on balls).
Adios to Brandon Beachy. Dude is done for the evening. The young Brave showed some flashes of great pitching, but overall... He SUCKED tonight.
5-5, Fish on 1st and 2nd with 1 out for Infante.
Australia's Peter Moylan on the mound for ATL. Dude better bring it.
Omar down on strikes. 2 gone.
Dangerous Hanley Ramirez reached base on weird chopper to Moylan.
Marlin Mike Stanton strikes out.
Braves due up. Score still sits at 5-5.
6th inning: Brian McCann- 3-2 count- leadoff single.
Turner Field crowd Tomahawk choppin, as fish change pitchers.
Some dude named Brian Sanches to face Dan Uggla. 0-1 count.
0-2 to Uggla.
Fish nearly turn DP. Dan at 1B, Mac out at 2nd.
Jason Heyward takes ball 1. Dude is due to go yard.
2-1 to Atlanta's Right Fielder. That pitch was wicked.
Heyward takes BB. Braves on 1st and 2nd. A Gonzalez to bat.
Alex needs a hit.
0-2 to AG.
Gonzalez goes down swingin. Freeman bats.
1-0 to Freddie.
1-1.
3-1.
Ball 4. PH Buckner Conrad to bat with 2 outs and bases full of Braves.
Big at bat for Buckner, who wildly swings and misses first pitch.
Conrad flies out to Chris Coghlan. At this point, I'm tired of typing damn. But, DAMN. Braves wasted a grand opportunity to score some runs
5-5 going into 7th.
Fish 7th inning notes:
G Sanchez 1 out single.
PH Wes Helms - single. Fish on
1st and 2nd.
Buck (wish it was Belue) now batting.
RBI single by Buck. 6-5 Fish. Marlins on 1st and 3rd with 1 out.
O'Flaherty looked more like Eric O'Flunky in relief. Dude had a job to do and he failed.
Pitching change currently being made.
So far, the 7th inning sucks. Linebrink pitching for Braves.
Scott strikes a Marlin out. 2 down, Fish still on corners.
Inning over. Martin Prado, N8 Mclouth, Chipper Jones to bat for Braves in 7th.
At the moment, bad guys lead 6-5.
It's time to Tomahwak across some runs! Dunn (former Bravo) on mound for Sunshine Staters. Prado nearly drilled. But, Mike evens count to 1-1 on next pitch. Prado then flies out to Marlin Mike.
"Tomahwak" outta be Tomahawk. While I'm correcting my spelling,
N8 McLouth has just struck out.
The Braves 3rd baseman now bats with 2 outs. Hope this guy knows what he's doing.
Nothin doin' for Braves in 7th. Jones flies out to end inning. Fish 6... Atlanta 5.
8th inning highlight: Fish DON'T SCORE.
Middle of Atlanta's lineup to bat in bottom 8th. 6-5 Florida and this could be Atlanta's best remaining chance to GET SOME RUNS!
Go Braves!
McCann strikes out. Uggla up to bat vs a currently sprinting onto the field fish pitcher. More details in a bit.
Hensley... whoever that is will attempt to shut the Bravos down. So far, so good for Clay. Dan flies out.
Heyward the HR kid steps into the batter's box.
Jason grounds out. Going into 9th inning, it kinda feels like the
11th hour for Braves fans. Fish have Bravos on the ropes of defeat.
Whatever happens, at least we ain't dastardly Mets fans. As I mentioned earlier, they lost 2X today. We can only lose once.
But, it ain't over yet...Starting to lose hope, but I still faintly believe.
Kimbrel on the mound.
Pesky at bat by Cousins. Dude fouled off about 2,000 pitches, then drilled a lead off single through Atlanta's infield.
Cleat high slidin' Cousins caught stealing. Uggla, speared by spikes, made the tag.
Then, some other Marlin struck out. Inning over, fat lady seeking permission to sing.
Braves must score or lose. Leo Nunez on mound for Florida.
LEADOFF 1B by A Gonzalez. Tying run 270 feet away. Freeman takes ball 1.
Cousins 8th inning single was with 1 out, not none. My bad.
Freddie drilled one, but the result was just a noisy first out.
PH Matt Young batting with AG on
1B.
Young hits one to Han Ram. AG out at 2nd. Young on 1st.
2 gone for Bravos. Prado due to connect on a clutch hit. 0-1 to Martin.
Prado grounds out to end game. See ya'll tomorrow.
