Looking to sweep last season's World Series Champs, the Atlanta Braves are up to bat in the 8th inning. A leadoff HR by former Fish 2B, Dan Uggla, tied the score at 6. Here's the rest of the skinny...
Rookie Brave, Brandon Beachy, allowed 2 runs on 3 hits through six innings. The young fella also fanned seven Frisco batsmen. With the score 2-2, Jason Heyward connected on 3 run homer, and Atlanta took a short lived 5-2 lead in the 7th.
Then came the bottom of the inning and Jairo Asencio took the mound for Atlanta. And, that was not a good thing for the Braves. It was downright ugly, as the baseball Giants scored 4 times on 4 hits and a walk with the bases loaded.
Update: Cody Ross batting for Frisco in bottom of 9th. Score remains tied at 6.

Then sends Jason to third on a single to RF. Braves on 1B and 3B with 0 outs for Uggla.

Bases full of Braves with 0 out.
Freddie Freeman bats.
0-2 to Freeman. Big swing and a miss.
Strike 3. Same song, second verse.
Pinch hittin' Hinske bats with 1 out. 0-1.

Back in ATL, Hawks lead 4-2. Howard just drilled Josh Smith with an elbow. #5 still in pain. No foul called.
In Frisco, Heyward thrown out at home (terrible call- dude was safe) on Hinske infield hit/fielder's choice play.
3-1 to N8 Mclouth with 2 gone and bases still full of Braves.
RBI SINGLE. McLouth drives in 2 HUGE RUNS! Braves lead 8-6.
Hawks and Magicians huddled up for an early timeout. Good guys 9. Orlando 5 with 6:28 in 1st Q.
9-6 Braves on McCann single.
2 early fouls on Howard in ATL. Wow, refs actually using their whistles tonight.
Alex Gonzalez grounds out. Frisco to bat in bottom 10th.
Hawks get fancy on some fast breakin. ATL 12 Orlando 8.
Game 3 hero, Jamal Crawford checks in for ATL.
16-9 Hawks. Howard has been on bench, since 2nd foul.
2 fouls on Hawk #2, Joe Johnson. Not good.
Meanwhile, Frisco is down to last out. Score still 9-6 Braves.
Great play by A Gonzalez, but bouncy throw to 1B allows Aubrey Huff to reach safely.

Flies out to RF. Braves win.
Hinrich 3 puts ATL up 19-9.
After 1, Hawks lead 25-17. Good starts by Crawford and Hinrich for Atlanta.
Key Fouls:
Joe Johnson and Dwight Howard 2 each. Both players sitting on respective benches.
Correction: Howard takes floor to start 2nd. Johnson sits.

About that...maybe I lied. Hawks lead 37-23 with 7:40 in 2nd. Howard has 2 points.
Hawks lead 39-29 with 5:43 in
2nd. Poor defense by Atlanta has allowed Orlando to narrow the gap between the two teams. Up 14, Hawks started getting careless with the basketball and squandered some opportunities to take a very sizable lead.
Time to go at Howard on offense and get foul #3 called against him.
Joe Johnson in for Hinrich. Hope that time spent on bench didn't ice him down. So far, Atlanta has turned the ball over 10 times. Orlando starting to hit the offensive boards.
Both teams suddenly cold on offense.
Horford whistled for foul #2 on a silly reach in attempt. Hinrich in for Horford.
39-29, as Howard goes to the charity stripe.
Makes first. Over the back foul on Josh Powell, attempting to rebound, puts Turkoglu on line.
Score: 39-32 with about 2:42 left.
Tech foul on Josh Smith. Hand touched the net on a missed shot by Dwight Howard. 41-34 Hawks.
My opinion: dumbest rule in sports.
Smith did nothing worthy of a T. Just lost his spacial awareness and contested the shot, while underneath the rim.
Redick shoots FT. Score is 43-33 (not 34).
2 till halftime.
Howard dunks. Foul on Smith. Dwight misses. 43-35 the score 1:28 till HT.
Great block by Smith called goal tend. 45-37 at half time
Howard called for 3rd foul with 1 second left in 2nd Q. Jamal Crawford makes 1st and misses
2nd.
Atlanta takes 46-37 lead into the locker room.
